The one for visible flakes. It clears them off and keeps the oil down so they do not return within the week. Gentler than a pharmacy anti-dandruff shampoo, so the lengths are not left like straw after a month of using it.

Dixidox Intense Shampoo

Caffeine and biotin at the root, keratin and collagen along the length. This is the shedding shampoo: for hair coming out in the shower, a parting that has widened, or growth that has stalled. Mild enough to use daily, which is how a course like this is meant to be run.

Luminox Shine Shampoo

Sulphate-free and mild, and aimed at a dry or reactive scalp rather than an oily one. It puts moisture back and brings the shine up on hair that has gone dull and flat. Light enough for every day, including on colour that you want to keep.

Best for

A dry or sensitive scalp, dull hair, hair short on moisture. Any hair type.

pH Control Antiseborrheic Shampoo

Also sulphate-free, but pointed the other way. It brings the scalp's pH back down and slows oil production, so roots stay clean a day or two longer. Nothing is stripped out in the process, so the lengths keep their softness and a bit of volume.

Best for

An oily scalp, roots that go greasy quickly, flaking, itching.

Dixidox Triple Action Conditioner

The conditioner for hair that breaks. Keratin and collagen rebuild the structure, shea butter and aloe handle the moisture. Left on a few minutes it also improves elasticity, so a strand stretches and springs back instead of snapping off.

Spread through clean, damp hair and scalp, work it down the lengths and leave for 5 to 15 minutes. Rinse well.

Steel and Silk Treatment Mask

Hydrolysed silk and keratin, for hair that bleach or an iron has taken apart. It goes further than the 4.3 mask: more hydration, and more weight put back into a strand that has gone hollow. On badly damaged hair it can be used up to three times a week without going heavy.

Bleached, colour-treated or heat-damaged hair. Dry, brittle lengths.

How to use

Spread through clean, damp hair, comb it down the lengths and leave for 5 to 15 minutes. Rinse well.

Once a week. Up to three times on badly damaged hair.

Dixidox Keratin Treatment Serum

A leave-in made for the scalp rather than the lengths. Green tea and soy isoflavones hold the oil down, keratin goes in where the hair has thinned. It stays in after washing, so the scalp keeps working on it between washes.

Spread over a dry or damp scalp and massage in. Leave it, do not rinse.

Steel and Silk Treatment Balsam

The leave-in half of the Steel and Silk pair. Silk, collagen, ceramides and orchid extract: frizz drops away, the ends stop looking shredded, and none of it goes greasy or heavy. A small amount covers more hair than people expect.

How to use

Rub a little between your palms and draw it through damp or dry lengths and ends. Do not rinse.

How to use

Spray evenly over clean, damp hair, concentrating on the lengths and ends. Comb through, then style. Do not rinse.

Fresh Cells Wondercell Lotion

The serious hair-loss course. Saw palmetto and placental protein go to the follicle, and it is mixed fresh with the 3.4.3B concentrate because the active part does not survive long once it is in the bottle. Three months of daily use before you judge it.

Best for

Heavy shedding, thinning hair, weak follicles, androgenetic hair loss.

How to use

Pour the 10 ml 3.4.3B concentrate into the 50 ml lotion and shake. Apply about 2 ml to a dry or damp scalp and massage in. Do not rinse.

How often

Daily, for at least three months.
